He is engaged. His fiancée's mother is charming, flirtatious and spending the holiday with them at the lake. A harmless flirtation becomes an affair, and a moment of almost being caught sets off a chain of events that could expose all of it.

A family holiday with a secret

The engagement should make this a happy family trip. Instead it gives the two of them a perfect cover: a future son-in-law getting to know his new family is expected to spend time with the mother. Instead the future son-in-law and the mother of the bride drift from banter to something much riskier. The lakeside setting gives them plenty of chances to be alone: early mornings, long walks, evenings after the fiancée goes to bed.

The turning point is a near miss. They are almost discovered on the brink of going further, and the scare does not end the affair; it complicates it, as unexpected events threaten to reveal everything.

Veronica Parker, the Candy AI character who plays the mother, also stars in The Anniversary Massage, and she brings the same amused confidence here. The tone is warmer and more romantic than her massage comedy.
