School is out and it is time to meet the new family. Your stepsister Brooklyn is first, but once your father leaves on business, she is not the only one who finds the newcomer interesting. Her stepmother and her best friend want a turn too.

A summer of introductions

The premise is a holiday ensemble. You arrive for the summer, your father leaves on business, and the house is full of women who have decided you are the most interesting thing to happen all season. Brooklyn leads, but the stepmother and Brooklyn's friend each get their own moment.

Your inexperience is the hook: you are new, polite and a little lost, and each of them takes a different approach to changing that. Brooklyn is teasing and competitive, her stepmother is warm and direct, and the friend treats the whole summer as a game she intends to win, so the chapters rarely feel alike.
