Full run: 36 tokens
Subtitles: 7 languages

The family holiday goes wrong when Mum falls ill and stays in bed one floor up. She texts her husband instructions: keep her daughter happy. Harriet, 23, nervous and curious, has her own definition of happy.

Doctor's orders, misread

You play the stepfather. Your wife is sick in the room upstairs, and she asks you by message to make sure her daughter enjoys the trip. Harriet is shy at first, then not shy at all, and the instruction to keep her happy turns into a dilemma.

The texts from upstairs are the series' rhythm. Each message is a reminder that the wife is close, conscious and checking in, and the race is between Harriet's wishes and the moment her mother discovers what is going on downstairs. Harriet's shyness is played well: she is nervous, then surprised by her own boldness, and the shift feels earned.

Episode 1: plans change

The opener is the illness and the first evening without Mum. Harriet's nervousness is the focus, and by the end it has turned into something else.

Messages from upstairs

The paid chapters play the holiday out with the wife still in bed and still texting.
